Platform fee revision for Prime Online
Since the past one year, Practo has been operating at a bare minimum with a very modest 20% platform fee per connection. After carefully analyzing the growing demand, need for accelerating product innovation and experience, and associated costs, we are writing to inform you of a forthcoming platform fee revision.
The dynamic needs of the telemedicine industry demand us to move from this lower threshold to 30% platform fees per connection which will be effective from 23rd august, 2022. This change will also entail a TDS reduction from 8% to 7%.
The revised rate will cover payment gateway fees for collecting online payment, fees for powering and storing video calls for telemedicine regulation purposes, SMS communications, and phone call charges among others.
Taking a leaf out of the industry playbook, this revision will not only help ensure quality service for you and your patients but also utilize the untapped potential of telemedicine for helping millions of new and existing users.
