Telemedicine has been around for over two decades, but it’s the last two years that has catapulted it into the spotlight. Ever since the pandemic introduced the masses to teleconsultations as a timely and safe solution to their health woes, it has led to a paradigm change in the healthcare industry.
Visible upward growth in the future
While we have seen a 10x growth in online consultations on Practo over the last couple of years, the industry trends predict a further 5+ times growth in India by March 24.
We have been humbled by the enormous support of doctor partners like you who have helped us lead this change in the industry and make quality healthcare accessible to over 30 crore Indians. The future demands us to evolve even more rapidly to better meet growing consumer needs and equip our doctor partners with a more powerful platform. This calls for an even stronger digital backbone and an extensive investment across all vital functions like technology, operations, marketing, and distribution among others.
Platform fee revision for Prime Online
Since the past one year, Practo has been operating at a bare minimum with a very modest 20% platform fee per connection. After carefully analyzing the growing demand, need for accelerating product innovation and experience, and associated costs, we are writing to inform you of a forthcoming platform fee revision.
The dynamic needs of the telemedicine industry demand us to move from this lower threshold to 30% platform fees per connection which will be effective from 23rd august, 2022. This change will also entail a TDS reduction from 8% to 7%.
The revised rate will cover payment gateway fees for collecting online payment, fees for powering and storing video calls for telemedicine regulation purposes, SMS communications, and phone call charges among others.
Taking a leaf out of the industry playbook, this revision will not only help ensure quality service for you and your patients but also utilize the untapped potential of telemedicine for helping millions of new and existing users.
We understand that you might have more questions about this change. We want you to know that we are always available to address your concerns at email@example.com. As always, we are committed to providing quality products and services to you and appreciate your continued support and partnership.
